Curriculum Vitae

Kristin Loeer, born in 1980, grew up in a German town, in the beautiful Osnabrück countryside, where nothing ever happened. She grew up spending a lot of time by herself, playing in the woods, writing short stories and staging little sketches with her friends. She desperately wanted to join a theatre group but there wasn’t one.

She moved to Bielefeld, Germany to attend the Oberstufen Kollege where she studied Art and German for four years. Here she committed herself to the position as students representative and she became a member of the committee of applicants and the college internal literature club. She wrote her first novel in her first year and a second novel a year later. Theater plays and further short stories followed, as well as several local photography exhibitions.

Kristin finished her studies in Bielefeld with a mark of 2,3 (on a scale of 1 (best) to 6) in 2002 and moved to London, England to attend a one year Foundation course in Theater Arts, which she absolved with Distinction. She moved on to Edinburgh, Scotland to take a three year undergraduate course in Film and Television and graduated in 2006 with a 2.1 BA(Hons).

Since then she has fallen in love with Scotland’s capital and has been developing further drama projects for Audio, TV and Film in Scotland, some of which have been screened internationally. She now is working for the first time on a 30 minutes drama, which will be produced both in Scotland and Germany, while seasonally she works for the Edinburgh International Film Festival.
